- Analog - A popular free
tool. Includes full C source code. Pre-built executables are available for
Windows and Mac.
- AWStats - An open source log
analyzer. Along with the usual web statistics of pages, hits, also shows
busiest hours, a search engine breakout with keywords, robots, and broken
links. Works with IIS or Apache using a Perl script, GNU GPL.
- BBClone - A PHP web counter that logs and
show each IP address with reverse DNS, operating system, browser, referring
URL, visit time and number of visits in a graphical interface. [Open source,
GPL]
- The Big Brother Log Analyzer (BBLA)
- A free open-source image based page tracker. Reporting generates
W3C-compliant HTML and PNG images.

BlibbleBlobble LogAnalyser - Perlscript for website logfiles: See the hits
for each page graphed over time, with many other useful reports also. GPL.
- Dailystats -
Analyzes the referer log, detects and evaluates gateways, identifies keywords,
and breaks down accesses per document and per referring domain. Written in
Perl. [Open Source, GPL]
- GeoIP - A Free software
oriented company, MaxMind provides freely available databases and APIs called
GeoIP, and commercial services, for finding the approximate geographical
location of IP addresses. See also Geolizer and AWstats for GPL'd GeoIP-based
log analysis.
- High Speed
Merging - Merges multiple apache logfiles into one. Site is German.
- HitsLog Script - Allows
users on shared hosting plans (who may not have access to site logs) to create
site logs. Freeware, but users need permissions for CGI, Perl and SSI.
- Http-Analyze - A fast logfile
analyzer for web servers. It creates a comprehensive statistics report in HTML
and VRML format. Free for non-commercial use.
- Kraken Reports - Kraken Reports
is a log analyzer for Squid and ISA Server, available by donation or free
while in beta.
- Logfile -
Flexible command line shell program for Apache log file analysis.
- LogFile Analyse - A logfile
analysis program by Jan Winkler.
- LogReport Foundation - Develops and
maintains Lire, an Open Source reporting and analysis software. Also has a
nexus of documentation, ideas, and thought on the topic of log files and their
potential applications.
- MagicStats - Open Source
Log analysis system. Uses Java for some graphic displays.
- Modlogan - A modular logfile
analyzer which is currently able to parse ftp-, webserver and squid logs. The
generated output can be viewed by a webbrowser or a text editor; full template
engine for customized output.
- NedStat - Tracks your hits on their
server. Free for non-commercial users. Uses counters, popular in europe.
- Pathalizer - Log analysis tool to
visualize the paths most users take when browsing a website. Generates a
directed, weighed graph from an apache log. (GNU GPL).
- phpOpenTracker - A framework
solution for the analysis of website traffic and visitor analysis. Features a
logging engine that, either invoked as a web-bug by an HTML img tag or
embedded with two lines of code in a PHP application, logs each request to a
website into a database. One installation of phpOpenTracker can track an
arbitrary number of web-sites.
- PowerPhlogger - PHP/MySQL
logging tool via counters. Open Source, GPL.
- RCounter - A free web-statistics
tool for your site. RCounter will help you to monitor your web site traffic,
measure online behavior and profile visitors.
- Realtracker Website Statistics -
A free tracking tool providing instant statistics about visitors. Can also be
configured to allow visitors to leave their opinions about a web site.
Interesting attempt at proxy IP tracking.
- Relax - Free analyzer for
referrers. Written in PERL, this program recognizes many search engines
(current list at the site) and organizes popular keywords used to get to your
site. GPL.
- Report Magic for Analog -
Reformatter for Analog output. Its results include tabulated data and graphs.
Fonts, colors, and other presentation elements can be customized. Product
appears to be GNU, but company sells support, service, customization.
- RobotStats - A free Open
Source PHP application tracking the visits of Googlebot and many more robots
to your site with full statistics in tables and graphs.
- Sevink Internet Advertising - A
unique combination of rotating banners, page counter and analyzing your
web-site
- Sherlog - Sherlog is not
a statistics generator like Webalizer; instead, focuses on providing a view of
visitors' routes on a website.
- Snowhare's Utilities
- A collection of free Perl scripts for analyzing web server logs (FTPWebLog,
RefStats, BrowserCounter, AccountStats, CookieStats, FavIconTracker), and
other web site support tasks (Usenet-Web, HTMLThumbnail, Bookmarker)
- Superstat - A
webserver log analyzation tool.
- VISITaTOR - a free web mining tool
- Clustering and visual presentation of site visitor groups based on access
patterns
- Visitors - An opensource web
log analyzer written in ANSI C, available for Unix and Windows. Can perform
path analysis and visualization using graphviz.
- WebLog - Perl script, keeps
track of activity by month, week, day and hour, to monitor total hits, bytes
transferred, page views, and most popular pages. Reads NCSA common or combined
log files, as well as Microsoft extended format log files. [Open Source, no
redistribution]
- Webtrax Help
- A log file analysis program for NCSA web server logs, which produces up to
twenty different graphical and tabular reports.
- W3Perl - Setiware log analyzer
in Perl. Provides the basic stats, ISP ready, good admin docs and
pre-formatted html pages. Very responsive author.
- Wwwstat - The
original perl-based log analyzer, under "artistic license". Not updated since
1996.
- ZoomStats - Open Source
tracking system utilizing either PHP files, JavaScript code (web beacon).
